Art & Play Holiday — Pachamama Farm Retreat, Montenegro Aug 23–29, 2025 · 7 Days · From €695 per person The Stay Nestled in the forested hills above Kotor Bay, Pachamama Farm is a living, breathing sanctuary — not a resort, not a hotel. It's a real international community built on a hectare of eco-farm land, centred around a lovingly restored 100-year-old stone house. Scattered across the property are ruins over 350 years old, an ancient stone mill, a traditional Balkan gumno (circular threshing floor used for fire ceremonies and gatherings), and a historic Austro-Hungarian water cistern. You wake to birds, wind, and sunlight. No traffic. No screens. Just nature, community, and the slow rhythm of farm life. The Art & Play Holiday is a joyful 7-day escape for solo travellers, couples, and families who want to slow down, create, and reconnect with their inner child. Mornings begin with gentle yoga or conscious movement on the outdoor deck. Days take you to hidden beaches and waterfalls, kayaking and SUP boarding in the crystal-clear Adriatic, and wandering the medieval alleys of Kotor Old Town — a UNESCO World Heritage site just 20 km away. Back at the farm, you feed the animals, collect eggs, harvest vegetables from the permaculture garden, and share farm-to-table meals cooked fresh each day by the in-house chef. Evenings bring everyone together: board games, painting, dance workshops, music jams, and campfire nights under a sky full of stars. This is not a rigid programme. It's a gentle rhythm — and there's always space to do nothing at all. How It Works 1. Confirm availability first Spaces are limited and the August retreat fills up. Before booking, contact the Pachamama team directly to confirm your spot and preferred accommodation type. 2. Reserve with a deposit A 50% deposit secures your dates. The remaining 50% is due 30 days before arrival. Catering and any extras (such as massage) are settled 5 days before check-in. 3. Choose your accommodation Pick the option that suits your style — from a private en-suite room in the stone house to a glamping tent in the forest. All prices are per person for single occupancy; the team can advise on sharing or family configurations. 4. Getting there Fly into Tivat Airport (12 km away) — the most convenient option. Dubrovnik Airport (62 km) and Podgorica Airport (84 km) are also well-served. Taxis and transfer contacts are provided after booking. The farm is reached via a small dirt road at the end of the village of Ukropci. The drive through Montenegro's coastal roads and mountains is part of the experience — the moment you turn off the main road and wind up through the village, the world gently dissolves behind you. 5. Check-in / Check-out Check-in from 14:00. Check-out before 12:00. Reception is available 07:00–21:00. No curfew. 6. On arrival You'll be welcomed by hosts Pasha and Zoé and introduced to the community. There is a shared kitchen (individual cooking is not possible — all meals are communal). The schedule for the week is shared and activities can be adapted to the group's energy and needs. Good to Know Diet: All meals are vegetarian. Vegan and gluten-free needs can be accommodated — communicate these when booking. Non-vegetarian meals are available on request. This is not a luxury resort. It's a wild, nature-immersed community farm. Glamping guests share outdoor hot showers and composting toilets. Stone house rooms have private en-suite bathrooms. No alcohol is included (water, herbal teas, fresh juices, and homemade syrups are always available). Guests may bring their own. Cancellation: Free cancellation more than 4 days before arrival. Payment: Cash upon arrival (deposit paid in advance to confirm booking). Special dietary requirements should be communicated at the time of booking. A car is helpful but not essential. The team can advise on local taxis and shared transport. Balkans residents & scholarship spots: Pachamama understands the financial realities of the region and offers special discounts for guests coming from the Balkans. They also hold a small number of scholarship-style flexible-pricing spots for anyone for whom budget is a barrier. Contact them before booking. Pasha and his family, staff, and volunteers treated us like family and welcomed us into the village with open arms. It felt very comfortable between everyone." — Sarah T., Google Review, June 2025 "I can't express my gratitude for this week enough. Everyone in the community was keen to make your stay a unique experience and treated you with the most heartfelt, welcoming attitude. A place created with lots of love for nature and every living creature. Besides that, I've probably never eaten better than during this retreat." — BookYogaRetreats verified guest "A beautiful place, and such nice warm and inspiring people. We stayed for 4 weeks and had the most amazing time. What really makes it so special are the people and the community they formed there — we felt part of the family for our whole stay." — Google Review, November 2024 "Pachamama is a space for openness, creativity, teachings and care towards each other and nature. I left with a full heart. Can't wait to return." — Camping.info verified guest "The food was almost all from the farm's garden and was prepared so beautifully each night by the amazing chef. We were shown the hidden gems of Montenegro that only the locals know about. If you're looking for a community-based retreat nestled in the mountains, look no further. I will be back." — BookRetreats verified guest
