Trust is built into how CoDNX works

You are staying in someone’s home or working in someone’s studio. That takes trust on both sides. This page explains what we do about it, what we ask of you, and what happens when something goes wrong.

What is built in

Talk before you book

Message hosts first, see who else is coming and ask anything. A good host is glad to answer.

Reviews from real stays

Reviews come from people who actually stayed or took part, so they reflect what happened.

Verified members

Members are verified before they take part in the community.

Direct with local hosts

You deal with the person running the space, and money stays with local businesses.

Community guidelines

Everyone on CoDNX, hosts and guests alike, agrees to these.

Be honest

Describe spaces, prices and experiences as they really are. Photos must be of the actual place.

Respect everyone

No harassment, discrimination or threats, in shared homes, in messages or in reviews.

Respect the space

Follow house rules, look after the property and be considerate of housemates and neighbours.

Keep it on the platform

Message and book through CoDNX so records exist if something goes wrong. Be wary of anyone asking you to pay elsewhere.

Staying safe

If you are a guest

  • Message the host and check that the answers match the listing.
  • Read recent reviews, and look at who else is staying.
  • Read the house rules and cancellation policy before you pay.
  • Tell someone you trust where you are staying and for how long.
  • On arrival, check that the place matches the listing. If it does not, report it promptly.

If you are a host

  • Complete your profile so guests know who they are dealing with.
  • Write clear house rules and be exact about what is shared and what is private.
  • Keep your calendar and prices current to avoid cancellations.
  • Ask guests questions before accepting, and trust your judgement.
  • Report behaviour that breaks the guidelines rather than handling it alone.

Spotting scams

Most problems start with someone trying to step outside the platform. If you see any of these, stop and report it.

  • A request to pay by bank transfer, gift card or cryptocurrency outside CoDNX
  • Pressure to decide quickly or a price far below similar listings
  • A host who will not answer questions or share details that match the listing
  • Messages that push you to move the conversation to another app straight away
  • Requests for passwords, verification codes or card details in a message

What happens when you report

We are a small team, so we would rather be plain about the process than promise what we cannot do.

  1. We read it

A person reads every report. Urgent safety reports come first.

  2. We look into it

We may ask you or others involved for details, and share only what is needed.

  3. We act

Depending on what we find: a warning, a listing removal, or removal from the community.

  4. We tell you

If you gave us a way to reach you, we let you know the outcome where we can.

Common questions

Who is behind CoDNX

Right now CoDNX is built and operated by one person. You deserve to know that before trusting us with a booking or payment. As we grow, dedicated people will take on support and dispute resolution, and we will introduce them by name. Read our story.
