Cancellation options

Plans change. Each listing sets one of three cancellation policies, shown before you pay, so you always know what you would get back.

The three policies

PolicyWhat you get back
FlexibleFull refund up to 7 days before check-in. No refund after that.
ModerateFull refund up to 14 days before. Half refund from 7 to 13 days. None after that.
StrictHalf refund up to 30 days before check-in. No refund after that.

Estimate your refund

Pick a policy and how far ahead you would cancel. This is a guide, and the final amount is always shown before you confirm.

You would get back about

50%

of the booking amount under the Moderate policy, cancelling 10 days before check-in.

How to cancel a booking

  1. Open your booking

Go to your bookings and choose the stay you want to cancel.

  2. Check the refund

You see what you would get back, based on the listing’s policy, before you confirm.

  3. Confirm

Once confirmed, the host is told and the dates return to their calendar.

  4. Refund

Refunds go to your original payment method. Timing depends on your payment provider.

When it is not a normal cancellation

If a host cancels

You are refunded in full, and we help you find somewhere else if you need it. Hosts who cancel repeatedly may lose their listing.

Experiences

Experiences follow the policy set on the listing. If a host cancels or bad weather stops an outdoor session, you get a full refund or a new date.

Exceptional circumstances

Serious illness, a death in the family or a natural disaster can be treated differently. Contact us with details and we will look at your case.

Hosting? Set your policy when you create a listing, and see the hosting guides for the effect on your calendar.
