Host responsibly
When you host, you are looking after guests, neighbours and a neighbourhood. These are the standards we ask every CoDNX host to meet, and a checklist to help you get there.
What we ask of every host
Be accurate
Photos, amenities, prices and house rules should match what guests will find. Update the listing when something changes.
Keep guests safe
Working smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, secure locks, clear emergency information and a safe, clean space.
Respect privacy
Never record in private spaces. Tell guests about any camera or device before they book.
Treat everyone fairly
No discrimination. Describe accessibility honestly, and answer access questions plainly.
Honour your commitments
Keep your calendar current and cancel only when you truly must. Guests plan around your confirmation.
Be a good neighbour
Set quiet hours, brief guests on local etiquette, and be reachable if neighbours have a concern.
Know your local rules
Short-term rental rules vary widely by country, city and even building, and they often differ by length of stay. Check these before you list.
- Whether you own the property, or your landlord, lease or building association allows hosting
- Whether your city or country requires registration, a permit or a licence for short-term stays
- Whether limits apply, such as a maximum number of nights or a different rule for longer stays
- What taxes apply to your hosting income and whether you must collect or report anything
- Whether your insurance covers paying guests, and if not, what cover you need

Common questions
Unsure about something?
Ask before you publish. We would rather answer a question than fix a problem.
